Our students have matriculated to various schools such as Iona College, Sacred Heart University, Bennett College, and Marist College.

The William L. Carter Mentoring Program, a component of The William L. Carter Inspiration Program, hosted its Mentor Training Session and has partnered with The New York State Mentoring Program. WLC’s dedicated volunteers have graciously donated their time in giving back to our youth and community. Confidence is a vital key to success for our young students, and that is one return we are looking to our mentors to help build.

We have launched the William L. Carter Jazz Clinic, with accomplished jazz musicians Kenny Lee and Julius Rodriguez, in the Town of Greenburgh, to help students flourish as musicians and have started the William L. Carter Jazz Festival for our students and others to showcase their talents.

The William L. Carter Foundation Committee would also like to extend our most sincere appreciation to The Theodore D. Young Community Center and the Town of Greenburgh. Thank you again for all that you do. Because of you, we can.

As a man who ascended beyond life’s challenges to become a celebrated member of the community, William L. Carter is remembered for his fortitude, compassion, and ability to inspire others. His impact on the youth was significant, and his support and belief in their success, despite their flaws and past struggles, changed the trajectory of countless lives. In celebration of the legacy of Mr. Carter, we have awarded multiple $1000 scholarships to well-deserving graduating seniors who have exhibited leadership within their respective communities. At this time, we are fundraising for our annual scholarship award for the year 2021. We have held numerous successful annual scholarship fundraisers to celebrate the children within our community with your support.
